Salah Extends Apology to Liverpool Dressing Room, Reveals Curtis Jones
Jones has revealed that the Egyptian forward expressed regret to the entire Liverpool squad after the uproar from his televised remarks.
The Incident
The striker was dropped from a vital match following criticising the club and claiming his relationship with manager had soured.
“He speaks for himself and he can say his own stuff,” Jones revealed. “He apologised to us and was like: ‘Should anyone feel slighted, I apologise.’”
The head coach has refused to comment publicly on whether he was apologised to from the veteran striker.
Looking Ahead
The player stated that the dressing room atmosphere stayed normal. “Nothing about him changed, he was smiling and it was business as usual,” the midfielder explained.
Jones also noted that a player's desire to start is a positive trait. “It's clear there are specific approaches you can express yourself,” he said. “However, if a player is content to just be on the bench, then I think that’s a bigger problem.”
On-Field Response
Their results have remained strong in the games following the interview fallout. The player is convinced the forward's comments were never meant to harm the team.
“In moments of frustration, it has consistently come from a desire to win,” he finished. “We’re past that now and we’re gelling well as a team, performing and on a positive run.”
