Former Physician Accused of Assault Charges Against 38 Patients
Prosecutors have announced that a ex- doctor now faces charges for performing assaults against thirty-eight individuals who were patients.
Details of the Serious Allegations
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of dozens of acts of sexual assault – comprising some against children younger than 13 – between 2017 and 2021.
A deputy chief prosecutor said, “Our prosecutors have diligently worked to assist a thorough and intricate police inquiry, meticulously examining the available evidence to establish that there is a strong case to proceed to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
The Police Inquiry
The charges follow what investigators described as a “complex investigation” into alleged sexual offences at medical facilities: the Royal Stoke university hospital and a facility in Dudley.
The defendant will appear at the local magistrates' court on 20 January.

- Fifteen counts of assault.
- Seventeen counts of assault by penetration.
- Nine counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- Three counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
- 1 count of attempting to assault by penetration.
